Radio Health – Welbody Talk
Bintumani D-SL supports the “WELBODY TALK” with the financing of the broadcasting costs at the radio station.
Health education and health care is a fundamental issue in Sierra Leone. Two nurses, Joan Basis and Marie Turay, from the “Lion for Lion” hospital ward in Brigitte Village, have found a new approach. In addition to their daily work in the village, they inform the population nationwide in radio broadcasts on various health education topics. Radio, the most widely used medium in Sierra Leone, is the medium of choice. Every second Saturday you will be informed and discuss a specific health topic. In the subsequent discussions with callers, further questions are clarified.
The spectrum of topics is broadly diversified: e. g. Personal Hygiene & Sanitation & Disease, Preventium, Malaria, Familiy planning, Mental Health.
Here you can go to the page “Lion for Lion” with an overview of the radio broadcasts and the possibility to practise in the crio language. 🙂
