Dialysis treatment in Freetown

In Sierra Leone, many people suffer from kidney disease due to various circumstances, but access to dialysis treatment is almost impossible. The few dialysis machines available are nowhere near enough to meet patients’ needs, resulting in a high mortality rate. Public hospitals are often overburdened and very poorly equipped to effectively deliver this life-saving treatment. In addition, the high cost of dialysis is prohibitive for most people. To overcome this crisis, there is an urgent need to increase the number of dialysis machines, recruit well-trained professionals and provide financial support to those who need it.

With the financial support of Gebhardt Freizeit-Technik from Stuttgart, Bintumani can enable at least a few patients to be treated at the Connaught Hospital. On site, our Bintumani member Dauda Brima is responsible for ensuring that the donations are made available directly for the treatment of patients in need. This commitment helps these people to live longer and worth living.

We would be happy to receive further support so that we can strengthen our commitment to kidney disease and dialysis.

We would like to thank the donors.
